Hometown: Havre de Grace, MD
Early Beginnings
Born and raised in the scenic waterfront town of Havre de Grace, Josiah Scott grew up immersed in music through church and community. His fascination with sound began by tinkering with audio equipment at home and being a musician and singer at his grandparents church.
Technical Journey
Josiah’s formal audio education and hands-on experience grew as he served as the primary sound engineer for his hometown church. There, he managed everything from live mixing and stage setups to FOH (front-of-house) duties and system calibrations. His commitment to clarity, dynamics, and emotional impact made him a trusted engineer—someone who could make worship sound as powerful as it felt.
Studio Work & Production
Transitioning into the studio realm, Josiah expanded his scope to become a full-fledged mix engineer and producer. He launched a personal studio setup in Havre de Grace, gaining early attention for his meticulously mixed projects. On platforms like Apple Music, he regularly shares his original work, including tracks such as “Tuff Love” released in early 2023 (Apple Music)—a testament to his skill in blending soulful songwriting with modern production techniques.
His collaborative collaborations range from solo worship artists to local bands across gospel, R&B, and contemporary Christian music. Whether tracking live instruments or refining vocal layers, Josiah focuses on musicality first—balancing sonic clarity with emotional resonance.
Worship Leadership & Ministry
At his core, Josiah remains passionately rooted in worship ministry. As a worship leader, he combines his technical expertise with spiritual depth—organizing worship sets, mentoring vocalists and musicians, and curating a worship atmosphere that connects deeply with congregants. His leadership style is servant-driven: behind the console, on stage, or in rehearsals, he prioritizes excellence in sound so the congregation can be fully present in worship.
Impact & Vision
Josiah’s influence extends well beyond Havre de Grace. He volunteers audio and production assistance at nearby churches and regional worship events, supporting tech teams and nurturing emerging talent. His vision is to build a creative hub in Harford County—a training and production environment that equips local worship leaders and engineers for ministry and artistry.
